The clever clogs tour is a beautiful 7 km long hike in the Nature Park Pöllau Valley. Johann the alpaca and his owner Anna are leading you to different clever clogs stops, where you will be asked funny and peculiar questions. An entertaining and amusing expedition around the Schönauberg!
The family Ganster has a heart for alpacas
Since 2018 Anna and Hannes Ganster have turned their love for alpacas into their hobby and added two pregnant hembras and two young machos to their family. When the first little baby alpacas arrived, the hobby became a passion. The alpacas graze on lush meadows rich in minerals in the beautiful Nature Park Pöllau Valley. All animals on the farm are registered, chipped, vaccinated as well as dewormed regularly. Anna and Hannes continue to learn about alpaca keeping from professional and experienced alpaca breeders. They love the direct contact with the animals as each one is different in their nature and charisma. At the moment there are 23 alpacas and one llama – a hopefully increasing number!At the clever clogs tour you can expect the following:
- Reception at the small familial farm of the Ganster Family in the Nature Park Pöllau Valley with welcome drink, farm tour and introduction of the alpacas.
- 2 – 2,5 hours of hiking with the alpacas (7 km and 250 m of altitude), there are plenty of stops for you to enjoy the wonderful view over the Nature Park Pöllau Valley
- During the tour you will hear many interesting facts about alpacas and the Nature Park Pöllau Valley in Eastern Styria – the Garden of Austria.
- Tasting of regional products
- The hike and the animals will have a calming effect on you.
- Enjoy the unique surroundings - an old mill, various small streams and biodiverse meadow orchards.
