In 2008, an exhibition center called "Kräftereich" was opened in St. Jakob im Walde, which impressively presents the forces that affect people in an interactive way - surprises guaranteed!
A visit to Joglland would be worthwhile for this exhibition alone. An overnight stay in St. Jakob im Walde is possible and also makes sense from a touristic point of view.
Vorau Abbey - Wenigzell 3 ½ hours, Wenigzell - St. Jakob im Walde 2 hours
Day 2:Via the Panorama and Kaiserwanderweg trail, the route leads uphill past the municipal office to Gasthof Orthofer (1139m, one of the most beautiful cross-country ski trails in Austria runs here in winter!), where a rest on the terrace with a view of the Styrian Limestone Alps is a perfect idea in fine weather - especially as the owner of the inn is known for her delicious homemade cakes. Now a little monotonous downhill through forests to Ratten (766m, here as a real culinary insider tip: Gasthof zur Klause, awarded a toque and 14 Gault Millaupoints) and, after crossing the Feistritz, uphill again through the church quarter to the Ponyhof. Hike back downhill to St. Kathrein am Hauenstein with the parish church visible from afar. On the Christmettenweg (see tour: from Joglland to the Waldheimat - on the Christmettenweg) to the Lendkreuz and finally uphill again to Peter Rosegger's birthplace (1144m).
The best way to return to the starting point is by bus or cab.
St. Jakob im Walde - Ratten 2 ½ hours, Ratten - St. Kathrein a. H. - Geburtshaus 4 ½ hours
