About the region
A popular hiking and excursion destination can already be seen from the village area of Ratten - the Ratten Wind Farm is the largest high alpine wind farm in Austria and attracts many interested people to the Rattener Alm. This can be excellently combined with a hike to the Pretul with the Roseggerhaus and the Peter-Bergner-Warte, which is also located on the hiking route "From Glacier to Wine".
On a hiking tour along the Montanweg you can immerse yourself in the history of Ratten mining, which played a major role in times past - even today there is a gallery to visit in the mining museum. And right next to it, a museum awaits all music lovers: the brass band museum shows music history from two centuries. If you travel to Ratten during Advent, you will be greeted by a St. Nicholas at every corner, because life-size wooden figures of the parish patron show visitors the way to the businesses in the village.
