Winter Hiking Trail im "Tirol"
This winter hiking trail leads through the wonderfully idyllic landscape of Tirol in Neuberg an der Mürz. In winter, Tirol is always deeply covered in snow, and hikers first walk along a forest road before continuing on narrow paths along the Tirolbach through the snow. A romantic waterfall and a charming wooden bridge invite you to pause and take in the scenery.

We park at the large parking lot in Krampen at the entrance to the valley and walk along the road until we reach an intersection that leads us right into Tirol. From there, we follow the forest road to the former Gasthaus Oberwallner, where the hiking trail narrows and curves to the right. We follow this path slightly downhill to a bridge, from which we enjoy a breathtaking view of the impressive Schneealm.
After crossing the bridge, we continue along the trail until we reach another intersection, where we turn right. From there, a slightly wider forest road leads us out of the valley, passing a stunning waterfall that invites us to pause for a moment, even in winter. We continue along this path until we reach a larger bridge. After crossing it, we turn left and follow the trail back to the parking lot.
Since this winter hiking trail is not cleared, we should be prepared to walk along a narrow track through the snow-covered forests of Tirol, especially in a winter with heavy snowfall.
Stift Neuberg an der Mürz, including the Kaiserhof Glass Manufactory, is also open during winter.
Parking (P) in Krampen at the entrance to the valley for the Tirolweg (Hinteralmstraße).
