The hike to the mystical power place leads along forest and woodland paths through the snow-covered nature of the Fischbach Alps.
The stone sculpture, the Teufelstein, attracts countless hikers to Fischbach every year. Once you reach the summit, you can enjoy the magnificent view. The panorama from the Teufelstein stretches from the Hochschwab across the Veitsch and Rax to the hilly landscape of Eastern Styria and Graz's local mountain, the Schöckl.
After the hike, you have the opportunity to enjoy refreshments in one of the inns in the climatic health resort of Fischbach, for example in the toque-awarded restaurant "Zum Forsthaus". The other restaurants in the village also offer regional delicacies all year round to spoil their guests.

From Vienna via the A2 Südautobahn highway and the S6 Semmering expressway to the Kindberg exit. Here through the Stanzertal valley on the Schanzsattel-Landesstraße L114 to Fischbach.
From Graz via the Weizer-Bundesstraße B72 to Birkfeld and from here via the Schanzsattel-Landesstraße L114 to Fischbach.
From Linz/Salzburg/Munich via the Pyhrnautobahn A9 and the Semmering-Schnellstraße S6 to the Kindberg exit. Continue as above.

Zeller Cross, Fischbach
- We start at the Zellerkreuz and hike leisurely towards Nordern
- After a slightly ascending forest path, we reach the Alptor
- At the Alptor we keep left in the direction of the Halderhütte
- We walk past the Halderhütte and reach a beautiful alpine meadow, which we cross uphill
- We continue along the path through a young forest
- Now we cross a forest road - a final short ascent leads us to the Teufelstein
- We can enjoy the perfect panorama of the Hochschwab, Hochlantsch, Veitsch, Schneealm, Rax and the hills of Eastern Styria
- After the Teufelstein, we can hike on to the “small Teufelstein”, which is located in the middle of a large alpine meadow
- We stick to the “Teufelsteinrunde” markings
- Via a forest path we finally come to the edge of a ski slope to the saddle “Auf der Schanz”
- From there we take the small path next to the country road and hike a little way uphill - is identical to long-distance hiking trail 740
- Our hiking trail is crossed by several forest roads
- We turn right at two crossroads that are relatively close together
- Finally, we come back to the forest road, from which we can walk back to the Zellerkreuz cross
- It is also possible to start the hike from the Schanzsattel.
After the wonderful hike up the Teufelstein on the winter solstice, you can enjoy a delicious breakfast at the local inns.
