Gault&Millau-awarded restaurants in Styria

The Gault&Millau restaurant guide awards toques to Austria's best restaurants and inns – and of course, Styria's culinary establishments are included as well. Compared to the Michelin Guide, restaurants with Gault&Millau toques are described in detail.

The Green Heart of Austria is a culinary stronghold with a multi-faceted range of different cuisines – from classic to modern. Gault&Millau Austria editors Martina and Karl Hohenlohe agree, calling Styria "the promised federal state".

Culinary enjoyment of the extraordinary kind

Haute cuisine at its best

Gault&Millau toques are not awarded for a particular style of cooking. It doesn't matter whether your cooking style revolves around classic, modern, regional, vegetarian or exotic dishes. The grading system is based on a school grading system with a scale of points ranging from 0 to 20. From 11 points upwards, toques are awarded, whereby a restaurant can receive a maximum of five toques. Fresh and seasonal products of high quality are just as important as the harmony that chefs create within their dishes and the overall taste.

From traditional and down-to-earth to modern interpretations – from the alpine north to the sun-kissed south, toque-awarded chefs prepare delicious dishes made with local products. With lots of love for their craft, the restaurants and inns serve their guests true culinary delights.
