Kitzeck im Sausal

Our winery is located in the southern Styrian Sausal in Kitzeck. At 564 meters above sea level, Kitzeck is one of the highest wine-growing villages in Central Europe. This is where the Sausal Wine Road passes through and brings you to our winery, which we run as a family business. Together we brothers Stefan and Bernhard Schauer lead the winery. Our parents Elisabeth and Karl Schauer are ready to help in all areas - whether in the vineyard or the wine cellar - whenever we need them. You will meet them especially in our beautiful Buschenschank.

What makes our winery special? The extremely steep slate soils, 100% manual labor and our passion for the region. Our love for winemaking and for our wines themselves: Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. These are our favorite varieties!
And the Gaisriegl. Our best and steepest site high up in Kitzeck. The ground on which our house is enthroned and in which our wine cellar is located. It gives the name to our flagship Sauvignon and Riesling.
