Loosely based on the comedy by Blumenthal and Kadelburg, Hans Müller, and Erik Charell, with music by Ralph Benatzky, Robert Stolz, Robert Gilbert, Bruno Granichstaedten, and Hans Frankowski.
The singspiel 'Zum weißen Rössl' is widely known, but you can only experience it in such a beautifully indulgent world of kitsch and clichés at the Theater im Kürbis. An exaggerated idyllic homeland with tongue-in-cheek fun, sentimental love stories, and all its hits from 'Zuschau´n kann i net', 'Die ganze Welt ist himmelblau', 'Mein Liebeslied muss ein Walzer sein' and 'Was kann der Sigismund dafür, dass er so schön ist'!
Plot: The head waiter Leopold is madly in love with the innkeeper of the White Horse Inn, who has an eye on regular guest Dr. Otto Siedler, who in turn wants to marry Ottilie, the daughter of the manufacturer Giesecke. Giesecke is in a bitter legal dispute with the manufacturer Sülzheimer, the father of the handsome Sigismund, who in turn is in love with Klärchen, the daughter of Professor Hinzelmann.
