Volume 5: At higher altitudes
Around the Hesshütte, at the transition to the forest-free areas of the alpine zone, is one of the most species-rich regions of the Gesäuse National Park. "At higher altitudes" is devoted to marmots and the rock ptarmigan, follows plants on their biogeographical way up, tells of the alpine fine stonemasonry of lichens in the rock and sheds light on the "cave" habitat in the inner world of the Hochtor.
The results of the GEO Day of Biodiversity are also exciting and invite you to a botanical search for traces of the past.
