1A Little Ödstein from Johnsbach
From Johnsbach (Gh. Kölbl) on a marked path in the direction of Hesshütte. Toabout 40 minutes branching off at the lower cod floor at a height of 1235m(GPS 1) the likewise marked path descends to the Hochtor (snow hole path).Follow this path until you reach a crossroads (GPS 2), where the marked pathon the high gate to the right. Straight up, a rocky escarpment(red inscription "FK" and commemorative plaque "Franz Lanner"). The steep step on the rightimmediately one gets to the mountain pines. At the first possibility (GPS 3) above theSteep step one follows an inconspicuous little climb to the left into a large depression(1451m). Over meadow slopes to the Gamssteinsattel (1566m). Descending,Crossing scree fields, one reaches the rubble fields that lead to the entrances ofGuide routes of the Kleiner Ödstein. Walking time 1½ up to 2 hours.

Descent: The best way is to abseil via the route "Waidhofnerweg"!The "Blue Marking" (see map) is very difficult due to the steepness and the oftenrock seriously and requires great surefootedness! The likewise demandingKirchengrat is less dangerous but very long!If the descent takes place over the Kirchengrat, no equipment may be used onentrance can be deposited (other direction of descent)!
