The route describes the access to the climbing route! An alpine climbing route, which can be looked up in detail in the climbing guide "Xeis Auslese" by Andreas Hollinger and Jürgen Reinmüller!

1C Schneekarturm from Johnsbach

From Johnsbach (Gh. Kölbl) on the marked path in the direction of Hesshütte. After about 40 minutes, at the Unteren Koderboden at an altitude of 1235m (GPS 1), the likewise marked path branches off to the Hochtor (snow hole path). Follow this until you reach a crossroads (GPS 2), where the marked path turns right onto the Hochtor (sign). Straight up it would lead to the routes at Kl. Ödstein, Festkogel etc. From the board to the right over a wooded step out of the trough and over meadows and rubble fields follow the marked path to the Hochtor until the foot of the prominent snow cart tower.

Descent: Over most routes it is possible to rope down well. But you can
also from the summit in easy climbing on the ridge to the northwest (2nd degree of difficulty)
climb over the western pre-summit into the Schneekarscharte. From
back there to the boarding point without difficulty.
Return to Johnsbach via the marked snow hole path.
