The season highlight is probably the Altausseer Kiritog with the beer tent of the volunteer fire department Altaussee, always on the weekend with the first Sunday in September!
Experience the unique and traditional beer tent in Austria. The tradition as well as the principles have been upheld for six decades.
Celebrate in the old wooden pole tent, without loudspeaker music and with free admission. The chicken and sausages are prepared over the charcoal grill and the wonderful beer, which is brewed especially for the Kiritag, comes cooled from the salt mine. If you are quick, you can also get hold of a freshly smoked char.
It is precisely these traditions and principles that are passed down from generation to generation, and that is what makes the Altaussee Kiritag so special.
What may not be missing at the Kiritag, is on Sunday or Monday the visit to the Kiritag booth. Whether it is a souvenir or the traditional Kiritag visit with the grandchild, here everyone will find what they are looking for.
Culinary specialties, handicraft products, toys for young and old, as well as gingerbread hearts in all sizes can be purchased at the stalls.
If you want to get a seat, you have to be there in time - reservations are traditionally not possible!
After the tent visit, the shuttle bus (timetable will be posted online at short notice) will take visitors back home in the direction of Bad Aussee, Grundlsee, Bad Mitterndorf and Tauplitz.
