Since its foundation in 2016, the Aussee Baroque Days have secured a firm place in the cultural scene of Ausseerland and attract an international audience year after year.
The musical round dance of the Aussee Baroque Days will open on Friday, August 9, 2024 in the parish church of St. Paul, Bad Aussee at 6 pm with a concert by the famous Wilten Boys' Choir.
The Wilten Boys' Choir is one of the oldest and most renowned boys' choirs in Europe with a history dating back to the 13th century. The Vienna Boys' Choir emerged from them in 1498. The Wilten Boys' Choir has sung at La Scala in Milan, at the Salzburg, Bregenz and Tyrol Festivals and in over 30 operas and orchestral concerts at various opera houses.
In Bad Aussee, they will be accompanied by the Academia Jacobus Stiner baroque orchestra under the direction of Prof. Johannes Stecher and will perform, among other things, the Marian Vespers by Claudio Monteverdi.
