Exhibition at the imperial stable Grundlsee
100 years after Konrad Mautner's death (1880 - 1924), the Grundlsee Cultural Association is commemorating this ambitious folklorist and passionate friend of the Gößlers. This exhibition also focuses on his wife Anna Mautner (1879 - 1961). After the early death of her husband, she founded the company "Mautner Handdrucke" in Grundlsee. She made a living for herself and her four then adolescent children by producing traditional costume fabrics. Her Jewish origins forced her into exile in 1938. This exhibition documents her escape route, her stay in the USA, her return and the reopening of her hand printing business in 1947.
