From the part of the Altaussee spa gardens facing away from the village, a narrow path leads left to Blaa-Alm-Straße. After about 100 meters, turn left over the slightly ascending “Donis Bridge”. Alternatively, the route follows the municipal road: Blaa-Alm-Straße branches off to the right in front of the Maislinger bakery. Follow this road to the junction with the bridge.
Turn right immediately after the bridge and climb uphill between rural houses. The meadow path runs parallel to the Augstbachtal valley, interspersed with forest passages and meadows. In the so-called “Scheiben”, the path runs along a dam gate to the former “Scheibenstollen” of the Altaussee salt mine. After a short section of forest, you reach the valley station of the Loser cable cars and the start of the Loser Panorama Road.
In May in particular, the snow-white flower stars of the wild daffodils transform the slightly marshy meadows into a spectacular sea of flowers - a real nature experience. Shortly afterwards, a rare view of the steep rock faces of the Loser from the northwest opens up - an ideal photo stop!
After another short forest passage, the trail crosses the damp meadow landscape of the Klauseck before soon reaching the idyllically situated Blaa Alm. The trail continues along the edge of the meadow to the road, from where the cozy Blaa Alm inn is just a few steps away - perfect for a well-earned rest with regional delicacies.
