There it stands. Between the Salzkammergut and the Enns Valley. The Grimming. With its magnificent 2,351 meters affectionately called "THE MOUNTAIN". Large and mighty with its unmistakable shape, it greets you from afar.
A picture of a mountain: like a colossus it stands there, steeply sloping on all sides, unimpressed by the much higher Dachstein or the Salzkammergut mountains.
The Grimming is already an imposing figure and before the mountains were measured in detail, it was long thought to be the highest mountain in Styria.
But it is not the height alone that distinguishes a mountain. Rather, it is its character, its presence in the landscape, its diversity and uniqueness. And the Grimming can always score points with this - more than many other mountains.
Many paths lead to the Grimming. In the end, they are all demanding, but the climb to the summit is all the more memorable and scenically impressive.
