Club life means living community. Whether it is joint work, regatta management, events or cozy get-togethers on our club terrace, as well as joint and spontaneous sailing parties after waiting for wind on the terrace bench.
From 1912 to 1927 there had already been a sailing club at the Grundlsee. But it should last until 1954, until five men and a woman tackled the reestablishment of a sailing club.
Under the initiative and leadership of DI Fritz Hampel these were Franz Hofbauer, Hugo Haas, Franz Rastl, Franz Syen and Lucy Häckel. They started with five boats and 20 members, locals and regulars. In 1957 the club and boathouse, which still exists today, could be built.
In 1985, the club room was expanded on the second floor of the boathouse. An office for the race committee and a sauna were also installed in the boathouse. Finally, in 1990, the new balcony with an outside staircase was built, which has since become the members' favorite lounge terrace.
