The Ödensee cross-country ski trail is part of the Salzkammergut cross-country ski trails, which cover more than 200 km.
The flat Ödensee cross-country ski trail leads through the moorland and through picturesque birch forests and reed areas to the beautifully situated Ödensee.

From the entry point in Kainisch you enter the Ödensee nature reserve with a magnificent view of the Grimming. Further over the Ödenseemoor one circles the romantic Ödensee and back over the Kainischmoor to Kainisch.
- The current cross-country skiing trail report can be found on the website of the Ausseerland-Salzkammergut Tourism Association.
- There you will also find the prices for the cross-country skiing maps and an overview of the distribution points for Bad Mitterndorf, Tauplitz and the Tauplitzalm.
- Season tickets and all day ticket variants are also available in the online store.

It is best to plan your journey to Bad Mitterndorf with google.at/maps.
From the starting point, you reach the Ödensee nature reserve with a wonderful view of the Grimming. The trail continues over the Ödenseemoor to the romantic Ödensee. The trail circles the lake and leads back to the starting point via the Kainischmoor.

The parking lot is located on the left side of the road after the railroad crossing.
