Wildwiesen round, Miesenbach

Enjoy the panoramic view of the Joglland-Waldheimat region from the 36 m high Wildwiesenwarte at cloud level, so to speak.
The Wildwiesenwarte is the "landmark" of Miesenbach, the power donor village. The hike to the Wildwiese, one of the most beautiful pleasure spots in Styria, never ceases to amaze: whether it's the mighty lime tree with its girth, the elaborate replica of the Waldhauser chapel as a photo motif or the Jägersteig trail in the direction of Floisenkogel. A stop at the Wildwiesenhütte, for example on "Hüttenschnitzel Monday", rounds off the tour before returning to the village.

  • We start right in the center of Miesenbach and follow the signposts in the direction of Kreuzwirt (trail no. 6)

  • We will soon find the start of the hiking trail on the left
  • After a lime tree with a fountain and rest area, we see the hiking trail branching off to the left
  • We continue slightly uphill across meadows and woodland, past a crossroads, until we come to a model of a wooden church at a road junction
  • We keep to the right and follow trail no. 9 towards the Wildwiese viewing platform
  • Initially along the edge of the forest and further through the forest, we always walk along the wide main path to the weather cross on the Floisenkogel, 1,217 m
  • We continue slightly downhill to the signpost "Wildwiese Aussichtswarte" and soon reach the Wildwiesenwarte with the Wildwiesenhütte and the Waldhauser chapel
  • The descent is easy on trail no. 9 along hiking trails and forest roads to the Wildwiesenhof farm
  • We follow an asphalt road for 1.1 km until we see a yellow signpost, where we turn left
  • Now we keep to marker 1
  • Another section through the forest and we reach our starting point again
A stop at the Wildwiesenhütte hut during the hut program is perfect for recharging your batteries.
