"Via Artis Bad Aussee"

Closed
The Via Artis should not only be a memory, but a realization of what people and artists have gained for themselves from this landscape over the past decades."
On the VIA ARTIS (Artists' Paths in Ausseerland) you can follow in the footsteps of some artists who, like many others, have chosen Ausseerland as their summer retreat or even as their adopted home. Like pearls, the three self-contained artists' paths - the Via Artis Bad Aussee, the Via Artis Altaussee and the Via Artis Grundlsee - are strung together with scenic beauty and memories of the cultural past to form a harmonious whole.

More information

It is best to plan your journey to Bad Aussee using google.at/maps
Station II to station III:

ca. 1.000 meters, about 15 minutes

There are two possibilities, either from the park via the bridge after the post and just before the store "Handdruckerei Wach" upwards to the right via stairs to station III.

Also you can turn after the bridge to the promenade "Erzherzog Johann" and follow upwards the stairs and the path to station 3.

Station III to station IV:

ca. 2.000 meters, about 30 minutes

Passing the Villa  "Martens-Villa" along the street "Sixtleitengasse" to the main road (B 145) you have to cross the main road at the supermarket "BILLA" and passing the hospital towards the street "Sommersbergsee-Straße". Then to the right to the street "Wilhelm-Kienzl-Straße" and passing the former hotel "Pension Teichwirt" to station IV.

Station IV to station V:

2.000 meters, about 50 minutes

After station IV leads a path through the meadows passing the new therma "Narzissen Bad Aussee" further via the area "Graumoos-Weg" and "Brennerlacke" to another pass below the "Ischlkogel" and then upwards to a hill called "Lenauhügel" to station V.

Station V via the promenade "K.-M.-Brandauer - Promenade" back to the center of Bad Aussee:

4.000 Meter, about 90 minutes

From the hill "Lenauhügel" downwards and at the fire department crossing the road we follow the signpostings downwards to Altaussee. Soon you will reach an institution which is called "Generationen-Haus", which you will pass. At the construction facility of the Altaussee you have to turn to the right and walk along the promenade Klaus-Maria-Brandauer-Promenade along the river "Traun" back to Bad Aussee.

On the VIA ARTIS the charming landscape is enjoyed. You follow the traces of creative people who lived here and found inspiration for their work. The artists' homes are viewed only from the outside.
Paid parking is available throughout Bad Aussee.
