Starting from the half-timbered house in Wildalpen in the Styrian Salzatal, the path leads steadily uphill in very *visible* forest. Really cozy and hopeless the way leads up. Passing the Wailing Wall you finally reach a snack bar after about 3.5 h +/- walking time. One recognizes it by the first better view on a Ridl (high German: Miniberg). The Jausenridl forces some people to turn back, because the Wadl are already burning. If they do not, one should not turn back here at all, because the rewarding part is still to come.

After the Jausenridl it goes downhill for a few meters and a slope crossing on the south side of the Hochkar follows. Soon the

Hochkar 360° Skytour to the light and it goes up the last exhausting meters.

One is rewarded with a gigantic viewing platform on the hill Note 1781 m at Hochkar.

Now you follow the signs past the Geischlägerhaus to the Hochkar summit.
