Yesterday, for the first time, the Gesäuse Partner Network presented the Innovation Award for the greatest innovations in the region.
First place went to Ulrich Matlschweiger and Bianca Rohrer for the "KostBar im Gesäuse". Local specialities from farmers and producers in the region can be purchased in the regional farm shop. The winners are thus living the networking of the Gesäuse partner businesses and regionality in an exemplary manner.
Silver went to "Forstauer's Hofbräu" from Matthias and Birgit Schmiedberger from Gams. The sustainable beer, which is brewed in the region, is of organic quality and can be fully utilised - even the spent grains are fed to the cattle - won over the jury.
The highest score in the degree of innovation category went to the third-place winner: "The mobile observatory" by Christoph Baumberger. Baumberger straps a telescope onto a car trailer and can therefore see the stars from anywhere. The first prototype should be available in a few months.
