In the middle of it all, surrounded by protected areas, lies the small village Hieflau, which is currently being awakened from its decades-long slumber by various initiatives.

Arrival

Hieflau is easily accessible by public transport - the train station is only 750 m away!
Supermarket and inn are only a few minutes walk away.
In the village center buses go in all directions to the starting points of hikes in the Gesäuse National Park and Steirische Eisenwurzen Nature Park.
In addition, there is a shared cab, a boat cab and bicycle transport!

The waterhole gorge in Palfau, the national park center in Gstatterboden, the geo village Gams, the mountain climbing village Johnsbach, the Benedictine monastery Admont, the high spring museum in Wildalpen, the Leopoldsteinersee, the rafting centers in Großreifling and Palfau, the bathing lake in Mooslandl and much more!
