Experience the world of birds of prey at Burg Oberkapfenberg
Experience the birds of prey at the castle falconry up close and watch the falconers at work with their hunting partners, the birds of prey.
No engine-powered flying objects, but birds from the small but fast falcon to the huge griffon vulture fly at this show. They fly just above the heads of the visitors to their falconers, whose shoulders they can look over and who will explain the birds and their work as professional falconers to them in the best possible way.
The castle terrace of Burg Oberkapfenberg has excellent wind and thermal conditions. It enables the natural free flights of eagles, vultures, condors and Co. to become a spectacular experience. Several birds of prey also fly at the same time, an experience that can hardly be found anywhere else in Europe.
Shows: From the beginning of April to the end of October, from Wednesday to Sunday, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. (see castle calendar for exceptions).
Culinary tip: After the air show, you can have a snack in the summer tavern of Burg Oberkapfenberg and then easily manage the 10-minute climb to the Loretto Kapelle. Prieselbauer inn with great cuisine, a petting zoo and a large playground is around 5 kilometers away.
