The panorama road was built with a maximum gradient of 10%.It leads with a length of approx. 8 km to the Almboden of the Bürgeralm at 1500m and offers breathtaking views of the valley in the hairpin bends.
The Almrauschhütte (Tel. 03861/22125) and alpine huts for rent are located on the Almboden. The Schönleitenhaus (Tel. 0664/5999715, www.schoenleitenhaus.at) at 1810 m above sea level can be reached from the Almboden in a walking time of approx. 1 hour.
Tariffs: Motorcycles, cars and minibuses with up to 9 seats: € 7, - Buses with 10-29 seats: € 19, - Buses with 30 or more seats: € 49, - Toll-free for mountain bikers!
The toll is to be paid directly at the toll gate (ticket machine) (cash, ATM or credit card).
Holders of the Steiermark Card can use the panorama road once free of charge. You can get the ticket for free ascent with the Styria Card at the Klema petrol station (located at the southern entrance to the town), at the Tourist-Infopoint Hochschwab (MON and FRI 9-12 a.m. + 2-6 p.m., Tue/Wed/Thu 4-6 p.m.), in the municipal office or at the valley station of the double chairlift (14 May to 26 October every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
The Bürgeralm Panoramastraße (gravel road) is a toll road that can be used by car and large buses from around the beginning / middle of May until the onset of winter.
