The Hochanger is just over 1300 m high and a popular travel destination for young and old. From the summit you can see the Rennente Feld and the Hochschwab. The Hochanger and the mountain hut, which is closer to the summit, can also be connected by mountain bike.
The Hochanger and the mountain hut just to the west of the summit can also be reached by mountain bike. The panoramic view is wonderful, especially in autumn, when the fog covers the valleys and you have a particularly good view above the fog line.
From the starting point at Stadtwaldstraße / Weitental parking lot, depending on the route chosen, it takes around 2 1/2 - 3 hours to reach the summit. A multitude of paths lead to the summit, the climb over the Rabenwand being the most beautiful but also the most demanding (short rocky spots, ladders). The classic hiking route leads via the nature conservation center to the Susannensteig. On this ascent, the opportunity to rest in Switzerland "extends" the walking time in a pleasant way. Then continue over the Susannensteig to Hochangerstraße. This ends directly at Naturfreunde - Schutzhaus Hochanger.
