More information
Via the Westautobahn (A1 from Salzburg or Vienna) to the exit Ybbs or St. Pölten/Süd, then B 20 to Mariazeller Land.
From the south to Bruck/Mur - Kapfenberg, then B 20 over the Seebergpass into Mariazell country.
We start at the valley station of the chairlift in St. Sebastian (only in winter in operation, in summer 8-seater cable car "Bürgeralpe Express" in Mariazell) and drive on the B20 in the direction of Mitterbach. After about 100 m we turn right into the Habertheuersiedlung and follow the road through the housing estate until we come to a forest road.
We follow the forest road to the crossroads in the direction of Habertheuersattel. Up to the saddle there is a moderate incline, once there we continue on the forest road towards Walster. Here we ride (always slightly uphill and downhill) to Rechengraben and follow the asphalt road to Kreuzberg, where the last climb awaits us. After the Kreuzberg turn slightly right towards the center of Mariazell and across the main square past the Mariazell Basilica to Dr. Ludwig Leber Straße, there turn right again onto the B20 towards St. Sebastian.
The tour is passable in both directions!
If you want to have a summit experience, take the normal forest road (north-west bypass) to the Bürgeralpe!
