Heilkräuterweg Aflenz - Kräutermeilen
A circular trail that points out the diversity of medicinal herbs (www.heilpflanzenwissen.at) at nine marked stations and offers some experience stations in between.
The medicinal herb trail is basically designed as a circular route. It starts and ends in the spa park Aflenz Kurort. Nevertheless, the trail can also be hiked in stages, for example
from the spa park up to the Pierergut 1 hr.the round around the Piererkogel 2 hrs. - can also be done with strollers (forest road)from Pierergut to the sound sculpture and back 40 min.from Pierergut via Lammerbauer to Aflenz 2 hrs.In between, the trail offers experience stations that invite you to a holistic experience of nature with all your senses - like the wood sound, the scent noses and the landscape frames. The starting point is at the herbal snail in the Kurpark Aflenz. At the barefoot trail with its question houses we can already learn many interesting things about the plants.

From the south: From Kapfenberg on the B20From the north: Via Mariazell and the Seeberg on the B20From the east: Via Semmering on the S6 to Kapfenberg and further on the B20
Starting point is at the herbal snail in the spa park Aflenz past the "Wasserschloss" through the forest and blow up to the Pierergut. (this route is not suitable for baby carriages - alternative route via the Bürgergraben) approx. 1 hour.The Piererkogel circular trail takes about 1 ½ to 2 hours and can also be done with strollers. From Pierergut through the Hawthorn Trail to Holzklang and across the meadow and forest road to Lammerbauer. This trail towards Lammerbauer is also recommended for families with small children - especially the short round to the sound sculpture is worth it (40 min.).
In the information office in Aflenz Kurort you can get for € 5, - a researcher bag with beaker magnifier, close-up tube, "herb word puzzle", colored pencils for your little ones.
