Mountain Bike Loop: Krieglach – Malleisten Alm – Hönigsberger Alm – Krieglach
From Krieglach, the route leads via the Malleisten to the picturesque Malleisten Alm. Continue to the Hönigsberg Alm and to Langenwang. On the Mürztal cycle path R5, which leads us across the Langenwanger Au, we return to the village of Krieglach.

Coming from Vienna, leave the S6 - Semmering motorway at Krieglach Ost. At the roundabout, follow the main road towards Krieglach. At the Alpl junction, turn right and you will reach the main square. Now follow Pestalozzistraße for approx. 200 metres and turn right at the Pestalozzi car park.
Coming from Graz, leave the S6 - Semmering motorway at Mitterdorf (St. Barbara im Mürztal). Leave the roundabout at the 1st exit. Now follow the main road past Freßnitz to Krieglach. At the Alpl junction, turn left and you will reach the main square. Now follow Pestalozzistraße for approx. 200 metres and turn right at the Pestalozzi car park.
We start our mountain bike tour in the centre of Krieglach and ride over the Mürzbrücke (bridge) to the junction with the Mürztalradweg R5 (right, towards Alter Sommer). Now we follow the cycle path, which leads us past the junction to Massing. At the next junction, we turn left into the Malleisten area. Now follow the ascent - steadily climbing - to the Malleisten. The first 4.5 kilometres are on an asphalt road, which then turns into a well-maintained gravel road that leads directly to the Malleisten Alm. The climbs along the route are interspersed with short flat stretches where we can recharge our batteries. After a rest at the Malleistenalm hut, we continue our route to the Hönigsberger Alm, passing the Lammeralm and the Wetterkreuz there. Now we take the road that leads up the Hönigsberg downhill to Langenwang. The main road (Wiener Straße) takes us into the centre, via Grazer Straße and Hohenwangstraße we reach the Mürztal cycle path R5, which takes us back to Krieglach via the Au.
