The ‘great’ Hungarian round

The Hungarian circuit owes its name to the numerous Hungarian spa guests who visited this path in St. Radegund near Graz as part of their cure. This circular route in the Graz Region can be followed with a free audio guide.

The 22 springs are strung together like a string of pearls along the extensive spring trails in the spa town of St. Radegund near Graz - each of these beautifully crafted springs tells its own story.

The most famous of these spring trails is the ‘Hungarian circuit’. Depending on your fitness level and time, you can either take the shorter ‘inner round’ or opt for the slightly longer ‘Great round’.

There are many ways to walk and experience this trail:

as a historical hiking trail
as a meditation path
as a healing path

Travelling by car:

The provincial capital Graz is only 19 km away from St. Radegund, in half an hour by car you can reach the starting point of the tour at the Curcafe in St. Radegund.

At the starting point, the Curcafe St. Radegund, follow the road towards Diepoltsberg for a few 100 metres before turning left at the signpost up to the Doktorteich pond.

Follow the forest path slightly uphill past the Dr Pollak spring and the Rosa spring until you come to the Hannelore spring or the ‘Tarock Partie mit Mühle’ (Tarot game with mill).

If you wish, you can turn left here to the shorter ‘inner Hungarian round’.

Otherwise, keep right and after a longer ascent you will reach the Schindler spring with its water-powered mantra mill. The route then continues to the Bertha and Bela Barok springs to Melaniehöhe. From there you reach the Hungarian Madonna and the Desire spring before following the path downhill and returning to the starting point of the tour.

Along the route, the fresh water invites you to cool your feet in the cool spring water.

At the Pollak spring, there is a pool for treading water as well as troughs for underarm baths and a Kneipp facility.
