The Mursteg Murau footbridge dates back to the early days of the wooden road idea.
Following an international tender in 1993, the plan by Swiss architects Meili and Peter was realized. The bridge, built for pedestrian traffic, connects the railroad station with the eastern part of the city and was completed in 1995 in time for the "Holzzeit" national exhibition.
The Mursteg is freely accessible at all times.
