With the construction of the wooden European bridge at the beginning of the 1990s, those responsible ventured far into the domain of the concrete industry.
It was planned as a model project by Graz University of Technology. With a length of 85 meters, it spans the Mur and connects the districts of St. Georgen and St. Lorenzen. To this day, the wooden European bridge is the longest wooden bridge in Europe approved for heavy goods traffic.
The wooden European bridge is freely accessible at all times.
