The region around the Hauereck offers both adventurous and culturally interested guests a diverse range. From St. Kathrein am Hauenstein, for example, numerous hiking trails lead into the beautiful nature of the Fischbacher Alps. And the home country of Peter Rosegger is an ideal place for literature and history lovers to revel in the past.
Winter
The ski resort Hauereck offers ideal conditions for skiers and snowboarders of all groups. Whether you are a beginner or a true expert, the runs range from easy (blue) to medium (red) to difficult (black). With a total slope length of 5.5 km, a 4-seater chairlift, a drag lift and a children's and practice lift (plus free usable magic carpet), the HAUERECK is an ideal winter sports area for families, but also for demanding skiers and snowboarders. The main slope (width downhill slope) is ideal for families with small children or for less experienced skiers. And in the valley of this downhill, directly at the valley station of the HAUERECK quad lift, is the "Liftgasthof" Willenshofer. A stop for a bite is always worthwhile, even if you only want to warm up briefly with a hot cup of tea.
The HAUERECK is also an ideal starting point for cross-country skiers, tourers and snow-walkers. Well-groomed trails on the Alpl - "Waldheimat trail", ski tours on the "Stoarigel" to Pretul or continue on the Stuhleck, round off the sports and recreation offer in this region optimally!
Spring, summer and autumn time
The region around the Hauereck offers not only in winter, a comprehensive sports and fun for the whole family. In the warm months, the landscape in Peter Rosegger's Waldheimat attracts to extensive hikes, mountain bike tours For example, the birthplace of Peter Rosegger. Even today, the Rosegger Birth House can only be reached on foot: A half-hour walk through the Alpler forest landscape leads up to the building ensemble, which consists of residential house, stables and barn, field box and a flax hut.
