Greim

Closed
The ski tour on the Greim offers a breathtaking view to the Katschtal and scores with a fantastic ascent and descent route.
Among the locals, the Greim is known as the little brother of the Preber - the last stretch can therefore drag on a bit. Above the timberline, however you get a magnificent panoramic view of the valleys of the Murau region, which then makes up for the strenuous climb. The summit is marked by an almost new summit cross, which points out the Hergott.

More information

Coming from Judenburg via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Here turn right in the direction of Murau. In Katsch an der Mur keep right and drive to St. Pater am Kammersberg. Here keep right and drive to Pöllau am Greim. Here the road leaves on the left side and leads directly to the Greimhütte.

Coming from Tamsweg via Ranten drive to St. Peter am Kammersberg. Here keep left and drive to Pöllau am Greim. The path leaves on the left side and leads to the Greimhütte.

Start from the starting point at the parking lot at the Greimhütte, northwest past the hut and cross into the wide flank of the Greim towards the legendary Greimrinne. A first steep ascent follows. Depending on your physical condition, you can either climb in the gully or in wswitchbacks to the right. Soon it becomes flatter and you follow until in front of the stalemate between Sandkogel and Greim. Keep to the right and head north across the mostly blown-off slope and climb up to the summit cross at 2.474m.

On clear and sunny days, the view at the summit reaches as far as the Dachstein and Großglockner!
