GUIDED HIKING DREAM - Pühringer Hut

Grundlsee

About the offer

Once you've arrived there, you won't want to leave the breathtaking legendary Lahngang lakes, which offer refreshment and water replenishment with their cool waters. These natural jewels are halfway to our final destination - the idyllically situated Pühringer Hütte. Let’s go!

  • Difficulty level ‘difficult’
  • Starting point Kanzlermoos car park
  • Walking time approx. 5 hours
  • 13 km length
  • 1023 metres altitude

The Pühringer Hütte at 1,637 metres stands alone in the Totes Gebirge in the Styrian Salzkammergut on the beautiful Elmsee and directly below the Elm. It is an important base for long-distance hikers.
From the district of Gößl on the eastern shore of the Grundsee lake, the trail leads steeply uphill through the forest right at the start. You enter the Totes Gebirge Ost nature reserve via the Drausengatterl. The path continues picturesquely past the northern shore of the two Lahngang lakes and slightly uphill to the Elmgrubenschacht - also known as Emil's Tränenhügel.
Following the signposts, you finally reach the Pühringerhütte, which stands at the beautiful Elmsee lake, nestled in lush vegetation and karstic rock formations at the foot of the Elm.

The hikes only take place in good weather.

Meeting point for departure to the starting point (Kanzlermoos car park) at 8:00 am at the Gutshof on the Zloam.
The journey to the starting point is included in the price for hotel guests of the Narzissendorf Zloam. External participants please enquire when registering for the tour.

About me:

I come from a small village called Söllichau, about 40 kilometres north of Leipzig in the Düben Heath, surrounded by dense beech forests.

I was fascinated by the mighty peaks of the Alps from a very early age and at some point I wanted to climb them myself. After my apprenticeship as a forester from 2003 to 2006, I came to Ausseerland after the storm Kyrill in 2007 to process storm wood on the Ressen. I was so fascinated by the combination of mountains, lakes in the Salzkammergut/Ausseerland, the naturalness that this region has retained and the old traditions of the people of Aussee that I absolutely wanted to stay here.

I have been actively hiking in the mountains since 2008 and have completed several alpine courses over the last 10 years (alpine touring course, climbing course, avalanche seminar). There is nothing better for me than standing on the summit after a strenuous climb. Enjoying the panorama and the distant views is pure freedom for me.

In 2022, I trained as a mountain hiking guide to turn my hobby into a profession. I would like to share my passion and the moments of happiness that arise on the mountain with other people. Of course, there are alpine dangers that should not be underestimated, such as weather, rockfall, falls, avalanches, etc. That's why it's good to have an experienced hiker at your side who can accompany you safely on the ascent and descent to guarantee a unique mountain experience.
