The Mühlberg Mill, a historical gem in Ausseerland, combines tradition and craftsmanship in an idyllic setting. The historic mill is romantically nestled between the trees of the "Holler Forest". The ancient craft of grain milling is still practised here today and can be experienced by visitors. Just like many centuries ago, the bread grain is ground and the bread is baked in the historic wood-fired oven according to old traditions. Afterwards, the freshly baked "Mühlbergbrot" can be purchased.
The mill, which was originally built in the 19th century, is not only a technical monument, but also a testimony to the region's cultural history. Inside the Mühlberg mill, visitors can admire the mill's ornate mechanics and the entire grinding process up close. The muffled groaning of the heavy millstone and the clattering of the ingenious grinding mechanism create a unique "concert of sounds".
