On 17 August at 19:30, the summer refectory of Rein Abbey will become the stage for an extraordinary musical journey. Under the title Odyssey, Austrian pianist Philipp Scheucher and French-Dutch violinist Cosima Soulez Larivière will take their audience on a sonorous journey of discovery through the world of Greek myths.
At the centre of the programme are Karol Szymanowski's Myths - three musical miniatures inspired by ancient tales. The repertoire is complemented by works by Paul Hindemith, John Corigliano and Kevin Puts, who also take up motifs from the world of myths and transform them into captivating music.
The historic ambience of the summer refectory at Rein Abbey provides the perfect backdrop for this concert. The combination of rousing virtuosity and narrative depth makes the evening a special experience in the Graz Region.
