Experience a moving choral concert in the Mariahilferkirche Graz with works by Pergolesi and Caldara, presented by the Singschul' and the Graz Opera Youth Choir.
On Sunday, 6 April 2025, at 8 pm, the Mariahilferkirche in Graz invites you to a special musical event. Under the direction of Andrea Fournier, the Singing School and the Youth Choir of Graz Opera will present two outstanding works of sacred music together with an instrumental ensemble on original instruments, conducted by Dario Luisi:
- ‘Stabat mater dolorosa’ by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi: This poignant work sets Mary's pain under the cross to music and is considered a Baroque masterpiece.
- ‘Missa dolorosa’ by Antonio Caldara: A mass that captivates with its deep emotionality and musical depth.
The ‘Mariahilf Evening Music’ is known for its high-quality sacred concerts in Styria and significantly enriches the cultural scene in the Graz region. The Mariahilferkirche, located at Mariahilferplatz 3, 8020 Graz, offers the ideal setting for this concert with its impressive acoustics.
