Immerse yourself in the world of past centuries and experience how our ancestors warmed their homes! A journey back in time awaits you at the Austrian Open-Air Museum Stübing in the Graz Region.
On the museum tour from 11:00 to 13:00, you will learn how the smokehouse was once the centre of family life.
However, the open fire had its price: the smoke did not go out immediately, but remained in the room for a long time, which created a special atmosphere, but also posed challenges in everyday life. Why was this system used for centuries? What materials were used for heating? And what role did the smokehouse play in everyday life? All these questions will be answered on this guided tour.
