Everyman, the Rock Star
Philipp Hochmair slips into all the roles in this play and turns Hugo von Hofmannsthal's classic into a many-voiced monologue. His Jedermann is a rock star. Together with the experimental sounds of his band 'Die Elektrohand Gottes', Philipp Hochmair transforms the 100-year-old mystery play into an apocalyptic spoken word concert.
Real all-round talent: from theater to television Philipp Hochmair has been a crowd puller on theater stages for years and this year was awarded the ROMY by ORF and Kurier as Austria's most popular actor. His appearance in 'Jedermann' at the Salzburg Festival in 2018, when he stood in for Tobias Moretti at short notice, and his charming role as Joachim Schnitzler in the ORF hit series 'Vorstadtweiber' remain unforgettable. With his energetic one-man performance 'Jedermann Reloaded' he regularly thrills audiences together with his band 'Elektrohand Gottes'. In addition, he has already slipped into the roles of Mephisto, Dorfrichter Adam and Torquato Tasso. Last year he could be seen in the role of Reinhard Heydrich in ORF and ZDF in 'Die Wannseekonferenz', his biggest challenge so far. Philipp Hochmair completed his acting studies at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique in Paris. From 2003 to 2009 he was a protagonist at Vienna's Burgtheater and from 2009 to 2016 an ensemble member at Hamburg's Thalia Theater.
