Great world theatre – on stage at Eggenberg Castle. The Alte Galerie presents saints and sinners, heroes and villains. This show is certainly not all about virtue: the dramatic scenes we see here vividly highlight the folly of human actions, the transience of all things earthly. A gorgeous spectacle of colour and beauty, from the saints and crucifixions of the Middle Ages, to superb examples from the Renaissance, and the magnificent world theatre of the Baroque.
