Hauser Kaibling - Moaralmsee - Hans Wödl Hütte - Steirischer Bodensee
The view from the Hauser Kaibling summit and the alpine roses blooming lushly in the second half of June on the slopes of the Kaiblingalm and around the Moaralmsee are worth experiencing.
Alpine hike with summit victory on the Hauser Kaibling (2.015 m), worth seeing 360° panorama of the Ennstal, the Moaralmsee - one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the Schladminger Tauern, wonderful view of the Pfannsee over the Filzscharte (2.213 m) and the always impressive excursion destination ... the Steirischer Bodensee. However, please note that you cannot do this tour with your four-legged friend, as dogs are not allowed in the Moaralmsee area up to the Gumpental. Thank you for your understanding!

- valley station Hauser Kaibling cable car (directly next to the main road)
The large difference in altitude can be overcome comfortably with the Schladminger Tauern cable car or the Hauser Kaibling 8-seater gondola & 4-seater Quattralpina chairlift. The half-hour ascent to the summit of the Hauser Kaibling (2,015 m) is scenic, the summit panorama is magnificent. The descent to the Rossfeldsattel requires some attention due to the root climb. Likewise the short, rugged passage on path no. 45 to the Moaralmsee. This lies like a turquoise-green jewel in the midst of a magnificent high mountain scenery. Green, soft cushions of moss contrast with the mighty towering pyramid of the Höchstein - and during the blooming of the rhododendrons the contrast between the turquoise-green water and the red of the rhododendrons is particularly evident. Follow the ascent (path no. 781) to the Filzscharte. The trail (path no. 780) descends with a magnificent view of Lake Pfannsee down the mountain leaning to Hüttensee and thus to the Hans Wödl Hütte. After about 45 minutes we have reached the bottom and walk about 25 minutes along the Steirischer Bodensee. Finally we reach our destination at the Steirischer Bodensee car park/Seewigtal. From there you can take the
976 Steirischer Bodensee bus line back through Weißenbach near Haus to Haus im Ennstal or to Schladming.
"I like to be in the mountains and my heart is happy there. Where the alpine roses grow and the gentians bloom." This line of the song comes to mind if you undertake this hike, especially when the alpine roses are in bloom! A leisurely rowing boat tour on the Steirischer Bodensee is also recommended.
