What wild, brave guys they were - in 1907, a handful of adventurous men set out to build the very first refuge here on Hauser Kaibling. Back then, they laid the foundation for today's skiing and hiking paradise.
What wild, brave guys they were - in 1907, a handful of adventurous men set out to build the very first refuge here on Hauser Kaibling. Back then, they laid the foundation for today's skiing and hiking paradise.

On the themed hiking trail ‘In the footsteps of the pioneers’ on Hauser Kaibling, you hike into the past. From the 8-seater chairlift Kraiblinggrat mountain station (Krummholzhütte) to the 8-seater gondola mountain station, you will immerse yourself in the more than 100-year-old history of Hauser Kaibling. Packed into exciting short stories, you will learn all about the first hut, the construction of the first cable car and how it came about that you can now float up the Hauser Kaibling in gondolas.

Ennstalbundesstraße (B320) - Haus im Ennstal: valley station Hauser Kaibling cable car (directly next to the main road)

The themed hiking trail ‘In the footsteps of the pioneers’ on Hauser Kaibling leads along the Ernest Reitzner Trail No. 780. The trail can be walked downhill or uphill.

  • Downhill: Kraiblinggrat 8-seater chairlift mountain station (the trail starts right next to the Krummholzhütte) to the middle station.
  • Uphill: 8-seater gondola lift mountain station (the trail starts at the Schmiedhütte) to the 8-seater chairlift Kraiblinggrat mountain station (Krummholzhütte).

You can also continue on the Ernest-Reitzner-Weg (No. 780) to the Schladminger Tauern cable car valley station.
