Thermal round (Thermenrunde)

We explore the historic spa town of Bad Gleichenberg on a walking or running tour and get in the mood with Peter Rosegger: "Diesen Erdenwinkle lieb' ich!"
Short laps through the spa park and the health resort. Here we see Bad Gleichenberg in history and modernity, as a training location for tourism and health and as a health location with concentrated competence. Let's enjoy the tranquility and recharge our batteries under one of the giant trees in the park.

The Kurhaus Bad Gleichenberg

In January 2007, the first construction phase, the therapy center, in Bad Gleichenberg shone in new splendor.  The 2nd construction phase was followed by the spa and the hotel. In May 2008 the new health complex was opened. This opening provided the impetus for modernization in Bad Gleichenberg. In the following years, the spa town of Bad Gleichenberg developed into a modern and at the same time historical health resort in Styria.

The thermal circuit has its starting and ending point at the park side of the spa house and leads 3,270 m through the spa park and the spa town. From the spa park we walk into the Ringstraße, ahead to the intersection Mailandbergstraße, past the police and the protestant church we turn left after the "Siegl's" into the Bernreitherstraße. At the Johannishof, almost at the Genser Kreuz, we turn right and come across the Schulstraße, past the Hotel Stenitzer, the Kellerstüberl and Kirchenwirt to the main square. From there it is only a few meters to the starting point.

About two thirds of the route is flat. Only along Bernreitherstraße is there a slight incline to overcome. After that, Schulstraße and Obere Brunnenstraße lead downhill back to the starting point.

Better suited for walking, since most of it is asphalt.
