Hohe Trett / Stein

The tour on the Hohe Trett is undoubtedly an insider tip among the locals of the Enns Valley. Especially the north-facing stone ascent is very varied and lonely! The peak to the east of Aigen in the Ennstal belongs to the Rottenmanner and Wölzer Tauern.
The hiking trail goes partly over forest roads, but also follows an old, very steep Holzknecht trail through the forest. On clear days, you have a fantastic view from the summit of the Großglockner to the Ötscher.

... in each case as far as the Liezen motorway exit

After the roundabout in Liezen, this leads into the B320 Ennstal Bundesstraße in the direction of Schladming!

At the 2nd crossroads before the shopping centre turn left towards Lassing.

We drive through the small village of Döllach and immediately after that the village of Stein is on the right.

We start in Stein and follow the good signposting for hiking trail no. 10. The hiking trail goes partly over forest roads, but also follows an old, very steep Holzknecht trail through the forest, crossing the forest road again and again. This also takes you to the Bräu Bründl, which is only 1 min off the trail, where you can fill up on fresh spring water before the hike gets really steep through the forest.

The last half hour is again on forest roads where you also only have to follow the signs. After the easy last climb to the summit, you come to the wonderful viewpoint!

For the descent, you could also choose the marked path over the Stribing and on to Moos (Lassing) as an alternative.

Crossing over to the easier, shorter ascent to Aigen is also possible!
