Pöllau, castle park

  • We start this circular walk in the castle park at the signposts to the east of the Parkcafe.
  • The signpost "Richtung Gschaid" leads us through Ortenhofenstraße (alternative via the Aupark past the outdoor pool on the left) in a northerly direction to a wayside shrine and the blue house of the Almbauermühle, where we follow the yellow/blue markings and the "Naturpark-Erlebnisrundweg" to the Hotel Restaurant Gruber on the left.
  • At the bridge by the hotel, we head in a north-westerly direction and follow the white-blue-white and white-yellow-white markings with the numbers 2 and 3.
  • At the fork in the path at the farm "Almer" vulgo Toni on the Wiesn, we now choose marking no. 2.
  • After the Grottenstüberl, the trail initially leads along the country road, then turns left into the forest and leads us to the junction towards GH Derler, where we keep right and reach the Gschaid saddle (SAM stop: HF 5996).
  • Here we turn right and follow the red-white-red markings no. 921 to Wolfgrube, where we leave this and follow the signs to Schloffereck (SAM stop: HF 5995).
  • After the viewpoint at Schloffereck with a view of the Pöllau Valley, we continue along trail no. 11 (white-blue-white), where we meet the red-white-red trail no. 5 (Roseggerweg) not far from Pöllau.
  • The latter leads us back to the center of Pöllau to our starting point (SAM stop "Pöllau, Zwinger": HF 5943).
