Exhibition - Mario Dalpra at the Gölles Gallery in Fürstenfeld

Mario Dalpra is a versatile artist known for his dynamic development and innovative approach to materials and concepts. His career began in the 1980s under Arnulf Rainer, with a focus on overpainting techniques. Influenced by stays in Australia, Indonesia and India, he integrates Maori tattoos and Far Eastern aesthetics into his work. Since 2010, he has been working on expressionist wood and later on flowing bronze and aluminum creations. Dalpra's paintings and sculptures are characterized by an aesthetic sensibility that places beauty above political statements. His ironic “Bag Sculptures” (2016) criticized the commercialization of art. His works reflect dualities such as perfection and imperfection and are characterized by cultural diversity and introspective themes.
