Intercultural encounters that move people
Brazil is a country of superlatives. The largest country in Latin America is home to two important ecosystems: The Amazon, the “green lung” of our planet, is bordered by one of the world's most important water reservoirs - the Cerrado. However, the world's most biodiverse savannah region is coming under increasing pressure due to the expansion of large-scale agricultural production. Half of the Cerrado has already been irrevocably destroyed. The water- and pesticide-intensive agricultural industry is displacing the local population, driving young people into the poverty trap and interfering massively with ecosystems.
At the invitation of Welthaus Graz, educators Luana Xavier de Souza and Danilo Borges dos Santos report in personal meetings on the situation in the Brazilian Cerrado and their tireless commitment to a good life for all.
