On the occasion of his 200th birthday, the Graz Academic Philharmonic Orchestra is dedicating its Whitsun concert to the great waltz king Johann Strauss, Jr.
For this Whitsun concert, the director Philipp Mayer and the artistic director Ernst Wedam have put together a very special program with selected pearls by the Waltz King, his siblings Josef and Eduard, and his father of the same name. Works by his famous contemporaries and those in his succession complete this very special anniversary program. With the great soprano Anita Vozsech, the vocal pieces will also enchant as always. The excellent orchestra “Grazer Akademische Philharmonie” forms the basis of this concert in the extraordinary ambience of the barrique cellar.
