A powerful place
Bad Blumau is a spa community with 1,624 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2019) and has a lot to offer its guests.
The unspoilt Lafnitz floodplains, a picturesque stork meadow, the Square of Visionaries, the "1000-year-old" oak tree and, above all, the 13-hectare thermal spa park with willow trees and the Safenbach stream as a flowing lifeline.
Rogner Bad Blumau, designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, is considered a landmark of the entire region. Colourful columns, "dancing windows", flowing walkways, golden domes and countless hideaways in and around the water make the spa an impressive work of art. Bad Blumau also impresses with its many leisure and sports facilities. Extensive cycling and hiking trails invite you to actively discover the thermal spa and volcano country.
In 2001, Bad Blumau was the only Styrian municipality to be honoured with the European Village Renewal Award and was also named an official spa resort.
